Training In Isolation

One of the fastest ways to improve is having the ability to focus. Our surroundings in the everyday shape us into who we are. So it’s important to surround ourselves with the right things, right people, and the right environment. And, believe it or not, my progress rose to new heights during the pandemic - simply because of the isolation. I went from being with a few friends and training partners, chatting away in between sets and recording synchronized handstand videos for fun - to being alone in my cramped apartment with no one to talk to. There was no choice but to focus, and the results shocked me.

When I was away from the extra noise, I can finally tune in and find clarity in my body and mind. Isolation training paired with good personalized coaching, is one of the best combinations one can have when it comes to breaking through plateaus and learning new skills. Having alone time simply allows you to process your mistakes much better and to have the space and time to solve the puzzle in solitude.

Not only that, it is also a time I cherish most because I can finally be one with myself, in silence, even in this chaotic world. After all, hand balance to me is one of the greatest forms of therapy, and it all starts with a focused intent.
